Week Three - The Ultimate Makeover
Week Three of Maryanne's Ultimate Makeover and the focus treatment this week was a deluxe Pedicure! Maryanne also got to enjoy a relaxing Gly C facial.
The ultimate in pampering and de-stressing for the feet. We begin by soaking the feet in a foot spa with La Clinica peppermint mineral foot salts. This helps to soften the dead skin cells, encourage blood flow to the feet and reduce tension and swelling.
During the foot soak we scrub the feet with the La Clinica Microdermabrasion Foot Exfoliant. This scrub uses Aluminum Oxide crystals to gently buff off dead skin cells. A rasp is then performed to the heels to eliminate dead skin and cracked heels.
The cuticles around the toes are then pushed back and removed followed by filing and buffing the nails to reveal shiny, well-shaped nails. We apply CND “Cuticle Away” cuticle remover to remove the dead and dry cuticles.
The cuticle remover contains Glycolic acid to enzymatically remove the stubborn skin around the cuticle. Removing the cuticles makes the nail bed look cleaner, the nail polish sit nicer on the nail and helps prevent hangnails.
The best bit is yet to come... a relaxing, stress relieving foot and calf massage is performed, working on pressure points and even some reflexology. We use La Clinica's Moisture Foot Balm for the massage . The balm contains Shea Butter for soft, moisturised feet, Ivy extract and Horsechestnut to reduce fluid retention and inflammation in the legs and feet, and Peppermint to soothe, relieve and acts as a great natural antibacterial cream.
Finally the toes are painted to perfection in your favourite colour. Open toed shoes is a must have after a pedi to ensure your colour doesn't smudge!
Deluxe Facial with Gly C Peel
We are continuing with similar products to the last facial as this is working well on Maryanne's skin. Combination Green Tea Cleanser to remove excess oil and dirt from the skin, Green Tea Facial Mist to refresh and rebalance pH levels, Gly C 15% Peel was left on for a minute as her skin is still becoming accustomed to the peel.
Soothing lotion was applied to reduce the redness from the peel and then the massage was performed using the La Clinica Massage Cream. The Vitamin A Mask was applied to help heal and repair, soften and hydrate, promote cellular renewal and fight free radical in the skin. Once removed with hot towels, Soothing Moisture Balm was applied to calm the skin again and reduce the redness and Firming Lift Repair eye cream was applied to the eyes and lips to aid with hydration and fight the ageing process around these areas.
Therapist Lauren’s comments
“During Maryanne's pedicure I noticed that she had a lot of tense areas in her feet. So I made sure during the massage that I focused on those areas. Her nails and cuticles were in a good condition. I made the shape of her nail more square to help prevent ingrown toe nails and buffed any little ridges out of the surface of the nail to ensure a smooth surface for painting. The rasping of her heels ensured her feet were soft and smooth. I applied an OPI base coat and then applied 2 coats of OPI's coloured polish “Red Lights Ahead...Where?” which is a really bright coral colour!
"Another lovely facial this week with a gly-c peel. I am definitely noticing a change in my skin. It is much clearer. My pedicure was great. My feet felt so loose & relaxed after my foot massage. I love the colour! Thanks girls"
